Hello and welcome! I’m April, a self-taught cake designer living in the heart of Cambridge. When my family and I moved here a few years ago, we faced a challenge: finding celebration cakes that truly resonated with our taste – think fluffy chiffon cakes, Asian-flavoured whipping cream, and elegant minimalistic decorations. After several disappointing experiences, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I began experimenting in my kitchen, determined to recreate the cakes we loved. Through countless attempts and failures, I gradually honed my skills.

In the summer of 2023, Gao Cambridge was born right in our home kitchen. Since then, it has grown to become a beloved choice for celebration cakes within our local community. This journey has been incredibly rewarding, and I am deeply grateful for all the love and positive feedback I’ve received along the way.

At Gao Cambridge, my mission is to craft beautifully presented cakes that make your special moments even more memorable. Each cake is made with love, care, and a passion for bringing joy to your celebrations. Oh, and one more thing, “Gao” is my surname, and coincidentally, it also means cake (糕) in Chinese – a perfect match for my passion!
